Joy of Bonsai - Bath
What a great day I had.
Met loads of IBCers (but missed the group photo) and bonsai personalities, picked up a lovely Gordon Duffet pot, a teeny but cute yamadori Scots pine, a couple of carving bits from Kaizen and to top it all won a handsome 4 ft picea stock tree in the raffle. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it.
Tony T and WillB suggested Xmas lights but I think I can do better than that.
Apologies to Kev Bailey for confusing him with John Quinn on the bus back to the Parkn Ride (only a few 1000 miles difference) some thing to do with my age and avatars with helmets I suspect.
Thks

No disrespect intended at all John of course
In my defense, I did have 2 pre teens and 2 trees in in tow, saw this fella recognised the face and thought "That's the guy with the helmet avatar - John!"
Was also surprised how much younger everyone looked than in their avatar pics - positively juvenile.
That's why I use one of granite pillar lanterns and my trees - coz I don't photograph well at all.

I should think so too!! Davinci's painting is over 500 years old.

Probably my best weekend in years. great to meet Will & Smithy & Fiona and loads of other IBC members.
Not sure if Steve (HR) was there this afternoon. Didn't see him on Saturday.
In all, its was a wonderful experience.

It was a brilliant weekend. Dan and the gang at ABBA did a fine job (no pun intended) as usual.
TimR, no problem. It was great to meet up, even if it was briefly on the bus back. Shame you missed the photo.
Will, your avatar is probably the most misleading of the lot. I expected an old bloke!
We managed the largest ever gathering of IBCers (I think), 23 for the group photo, though I know that a few were too busy with their demos or trade stands to attend. The shots gathered on my camera were badly lit and need stitching together, so I hope someone elses worked out better? If they did, please post on the group photo thread.

Hi Guys, it seems that i missed a fantastic weekend and I'm so sad I missed it
Must try and catch-up again in the not too distant.
Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to post pictures and movies of the weekend.
Us Bonsai folk sure know how to have a ball by the looks of things
LP&B,
Simon
