Parking at Joy of Bonsai Next Week
Green issues notwithstanding, is it feasible to drive to and park at or near the venue? Sat looks better day to drive than Sunday as its Bath v Northampton on Sun nearby and Bath is busy at the best of times.
As I intend to go home laden with booty hopefully, I don't really want to train it from Southampton although it would be most convenient.
Any tips gratefully received

Bath Parking
Hi Tim,
The Pavilion Hall is alongside a sports centre and parking onsite is bad, in past years I have parked on the opposite side of the road in the cricket ground. The park and rides are good, there are about four around Bath, I've used the one at Newbridge. Buses run about every 15 minutes, but it's only open Mon to Sat not Sunday. Hope this helps.
Regards
Geoff

Re: Parking at Joy of Bonsai Next Week
Hi Geoff,
Thks for the info.
Having discovered my cunning plan to visit JoB on Saturday, my wife is tagging along with our niece and nephew to soak up some history. We are child minding all weekend (apparently) while their Mum (wife's sister) and Dad are in Paris watching France v Eng with tickets I got them via my RFC. (I'd forgotten)
At least I'll get dropped at the venue and (hopefully) picked up.
I can't quite figure out who's getting the better end of the weekend with Eng likely to get their backsides kicked but then it is Paris, set against a likely to be slow drive with 2 pre-teens in the back followed by a few hours of bonsai.
I think the bonsai might just be edging it though - despite.

Parking in Bath is a nightmare!!! There are Pay and Display parking areas around the Pavilion but for maximum of 4 hours. There is similar parking in the Sports Centre car park. Best bet is to use the Park and Ride facilities. Good luck, Dan

Get a handicap plate. Problem solved. just kidding of course.
I live in a city where parking is the absolute carnation of Freddy Kruger. If you ever get a chance check out the show "Parking Wars" it's filmed here in Philadelphia.
Good luck on your mission.

Other than the parking that Dan has already described on/ close to the Paviliion site, there is also a 150 space Pay and Display, 24hr, car park at the near by Bath Cricket Club...just a very short walk away.
As this car park is close to Bath Rugby Club, I do anticipate that it will be busy on Sunday due to a rugby match.
From what I hear, the JoB this year will be pretty special with lots to see, do and buy. The nearby attractions of the Roman Baths and the great shopping centre/ restaurants are worthy of note.
Hope to see some of you there.
