Re: Show us your tattoos
I'm sure some of you must have a tattoo or two. The Knitters thread has some way out stuff on it.

- Tattooed myself on the ankle at the age of 14. An old pin and some Windsor and Newton Indian ink. Also did one on a mate of mine at the same time with the very same pin. Different times then. Anyway I soon tired of my own creativity and decided to get it covered by a pro. Asterix was a big part of my youth from the age of six and so thought it fitting that he should take his place on my skin as well as in it. I want another now but am waiting for the artist to come up with the goods.

Re: Show us your tattoos
When i first stated reading this i thought you had done this one yourself and i was going to say you should take up tattooing.
My son was looking over my shoulder so I told him all about Asterix,so we are now on the mission to educate him . Thanks for that.
It's a great tattoo.

Re: Show us your tattoos
We'll have to wait on the ones on my back, I'm at work and might get fired for asking co-workers to photograph me half nekket!
I have two on the upper back, the Lion Rampant from the Scottish King's Flag and a dragon. both facing outward. The goal is to get a Celtic cross tombstone with the "critters" standing guard. A set of bagpipes leaning at the base of the cross, some Scotish thistle around the base, and some type of ivey. The remainder of the back will be filled in with the St. Andrew's Cross flag set in the background and the colors fading out at the top, bottom and sides, the final touch will be "Sotland Forever" in gaelic across the top. It's a tad ambitious, but I should get it done by the time I'm DEAD! LOL!
THe rest of the planned artwork will be bonsai & Japanese artwork and United States Marine Corps pieces.

Most recent tattoo added to my growing collection is a USMC Corporal Bulldog, riding a motorcycle. While the Latin is not perfect (as there were no motorcycles in the old world) I did get the most appropriate Latin phrase for "Always Riding"... Semper Vehendous! Got it from the Presdent of the College of Latin at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Just a wee bit! My mother's maiden name is Forbes. Her great grandparents (Forbes and McKay) arrived in Nova Scotia around 1885, her grandfather was approximately 4 when they arrived. Although, I am mostly of French descent, (5/8ths French, 1/8th Slavic, 1/4 Scot) it is the Scot heritage, culture, music, etc that rings loudest in my soul! And, it was so long before I learned what the proportions were.
Besides my family, the three greatest loves of my life are Scotland, the United States Maring Corps and horses (the order is subject to change depending on where I am, what I'm doing and what I'm working on at the time.) Growing stuff (bonsai is just the latest and greatest) comes in at a close 4th.

I'm glad you cleared that one up Jay. Although I have to admit to being a little disappointed . I always thought we shared common ground with our love of dresses. Turns out yours is a kilt.

Not to fret, Will. I still have a great love of dresses, I've even tried to get into one or two in my past. Problem was, the occupants of the dresses at the time, weren't looking for company!

Yes you are Faisal, opposite the station and up the road until there is a little intersection and turn right . There is a Hotel to the left of where i am sitting called the Navrang and to the right of me there is a little temple.

I know exactly where that is:-) Next time you plan to go to New Delhi, lemme know. Delhi is lot more crowded now but there are some beautiful laces as well. Taj Mahal is couple of hours away. and so much more to see:-)

Re: Show us your tattoos
Nice one andy, come on show us the rest.
Faisal, I spent a bit of time in Aggra, that shocked me how around the calm beauty of the Taj there is busyness just outside the gates. I used to spend a bit of time in Pushkar which is a special place for me.
