Echo that...Loke Emil wrote:Hi Pavel
...ENVY, ENVY and then some inspiration and hope for amateurs like me - given the 2006 material; Something similar can be found in nurseries, even in the danish 'wild' forrests...But the way you control the tree from raw starter-material is awesome

Hi Pavel. As always, a superb transformation, and excellently documented.
I agree with Lee that the tree looks much better without the apical jin.
I look forward to seeing this tree in person very soon!

This is very impressive!
And the quality of photograph, too!

Excellent work as usual, Pavel.
I wouldn't keep the smaller trunk on the right though...

Re: Pinus mugo 2006
I think this is one of those oh it's "Pavel's tree" images where the rules are broken to convey a much more memorable image .... a lot of people would have whacked or jinned the branch at the first styling. You say you pluck the needles on mugo Pavel - I thought they back budded better by cutting them to a few mm's (Hans Van Meer)? Do you have any pics of the tree recovering after styling and the extent to which you leave it before the next phase? I'm interested in the periods between styling too - I think a lot of people (me included) for a long time thought that these trees never got 'scruffy' in between times ... i weakened a lot of trees by trying to keep the current image

pavel yet again what a brilliant result you have produced with this pine material,i love it,the combination of your true passion plus a natural ability in the art of bonsai is fantastic and a real credit to you, i am not prone to any form of hero worship but i do admire real talent in a person and you my friend are something special of that their is no doubt, the images you continue to create on this forum from yamadori to finished trees is truly awesome and i know you always strive to do the very best you can nothing is perfect not even in nature, there will always be the critics and those with different opinions and rightly so its what makes the world go round, but for me i just love your work i also think the photographic presentation rounds up the whole thing. unfortunately there is no higher mark i can give but 10 out of 10,please keep posting bob hill
