Height of planting
Well, this is just a problem really.
I have these trees im always thinking about, and one of them, the first tree I got, is a ficus, with that s-bend on the trunk..
I have just repotted it into a much bigger pot, just to get it to grow. Id guess it was too early, but I just took a chance.
The real q is that, can I plant it lower into the soil, to get the s bend away? Or would the trunk rot or something? Its just about 3cm down into the soil I would need it.
Hmm, maybe I should try to peel off some of the bark, and see if it will root?

Re: Height of planting
You could air layer or ground layer the trunk at the desired level...wait until early summer so the tree is more vigorous...

Thanks for the link. Ive looked it over, and I read it a long time ago too, but Im unfortunately always looking for the easiest way to do things. I should have learned by now, that theres nothing "fast" about bonsai!
