Re: Du nouveau
No maybe not a goodbye Nellie, but I have to find a solution for my drawings.

That's very good to read, Pascal!p@scal wrote:No maybe not a goodbye Nellie, ... ...
Yes, indeed you need to safeguard your work.

Re: Du nouveau
P@scal, perhaps if you find a secure place to post your images, one that will not allow copying or even "print screen" captures, you could then post a low resolution image here that would link us to your secure server...

Re: Du nouveau
I used to work as a web-content developer some years ago. Not doing it anymore so I'm not completely up-to-date, but unless things have changed significantly - I don't think there's a way to completely prevent image captures from a web page. You can disable the "right-click download" functionality, which makes it difficult to download the actual jpeg, but I don't think you can prevent screen capture of images.
Generally it is recommended that a watermark be added to the image. This makes the image less attractive and there are ways to make the watermark difficult to remove. This, combined with disabling the "right-click download" function, will probably be enough to deter the casual thief - but not the more determined one.
Maybe someone knows more about this and can chime in?
Chris
P.S. Pascal, somehow I missed this thread and never saw most of your images. Judging by the one that you posted the other day, I wish I hadn't missed them! Very nice work.

You have deprived yourself of some very exceptional bonsai painting artwork.

Re: Du nouveau
I am not technically minded, what I would do is just take a photo and post the photo. Doing this way it is a less desirable picture to download than a high resolution file with no discrepancies.

Re: Du nouveau
The images stored on our servimg.com space are automatically resized and stored at a fairly low resolution. It is the principle of taking them and reusing them elsewhere, without permission, that is the problem.

Do you know if when we delete a picture here it is also deleted from the servimg server, too?

Re: Du nouveau
image deleted.
Nope, doesn't seem to. You'd need to go into your Servimg account and delete it there.

Re: Du nouveau
Nothing scary about it really Jim. You just have to get used to it, Wayback machine can aggregate whole sites over a long time. Many other sites are continuously sampling and redistributing, often without our permission. Once it is out there on the Internet, there's not much chance of ever deleting it, effectively.
