Laughing so hard ! I had grown many a pepper this last season and was complaining of the same exact thing. I've picked a booger or two leaving me crying and promising myself i would never do it again. But I do.

Ah, fellow Chilli freaks, try to develop an awareness and deep respect early, as I did.
I led an expedition of 30 to Iceland for one month, over 20 years ago. The only medical incident was when one member opened a packet of chilli powder with his teeth. We were 12 miles from the nearest road and 50 miles from a medical facility. You learn a real respect for both Doctors (we had a good one on our team) and Scoville units after that!
I'm now looking forward to next year's crop of own seed chilli plants and the harvest of dried and pickled chillis that will result.

I'm a safety freak when it comes to working with hot chilis of all kinds. Thick rubber gloves, don't touch your face, remove gloves and wash before bathroom breaks (and after...of course).
Needless to say, all the safety precautions can't protect you against STUPIDITY!
Worked up a batch of habaneros for dehydrating. Cut them in half, removed the stems, seeds and septi, loaded them into the dehydrator, cleaned up and went shopping.
Got home, opened the living room door and quickly realize we should have put the dehydrator OUTDOORS!
Gassed ourselves in our own house. Luckily it was fall and nice out, we had to open all the windows and put in exhaust fans for hours!
Yupp, stupidity is the great equalizer!

Oh wow never thought about that happening with a dehydrator indoors. I don't own one. I stick to the string and sun method for the peppers.
For a family party I brought these very hot Tai Dragons to give to my grandfather. I decided to prank my little cousin and put it on the rim of his glass. He vomited....
I laugh now but the vomit was on my dessert. Again .. very stupid.
