Help with Premna root-over-rock

Hi all, about a month ago I "adopted" this little premna over rock. As you can see from the pictures, it is less than ideal with little gaps between the roots and rock. However, even odder to me is the gap between the trunks. I have since pruned, repotted and wired on 2 spots, one not pictured (marked in red) in an attempt to gradually reduce the trunk gap. Any suggestions to improve on the look is welcomed, thanks!
