Bobby Lane gives excellent advice - very good tree.
But what are you planting in? I like the colour but I am not sure it is free draining enough for England?

Thanks brendan. The soil is premade bonsai soil bought online. Its better than what it has been in for the last 10 years, but i'll be keeping my eye on it.

Does it come up black like that or is that just the photo? I quite like the idea of a really dark substrate that I can use for some of my trees - where do you get it?

Yes its pretty dark. its called Bonsai Focus repotting mix from got-bonsai.co.uk

Really nice little tree there! Lots of potential.
That soil doesn't look too great though! Still, if it's growing well that all that really matters I guess.

ive repotted it again using the original soil mixed with tesco cat litter.
