Some work begun in 2010
These are the younger Sageretia t, found as seedlings and transferred to deep pots.
Repotted every 2 to 3 years.
Objective - branch placement and leaf density.
I have begun to defoliate in late February and assess. Next year drawn projected shapes.
Soil is pretty simple, 1/3 by volume, crushed red brick and builder's silica gravel, both at 5 mm, with aged compost.
Placement is under the shade of pomegranate tree [ low leaf density ] until 2.00 p.m then just bright light, area faces East ]
The trick is allow no suckers off of the trunk, unless it is the right place. Wounds do not heal if larger than this ------ O.
Feel free to comment yay or nay.
Questions?
Thanks for looking.

is the defoliating helping to get smaller leaves ?
if so, the smaller ones you have will be really nice !
i do like the first one though too.
