I love Ficus. Your trees look very good. how many times did you prune the branches back to get that size leaf?

The Ficus natalensis were completely defoliated early this year. Once the new foliage appears the trees were leaf pruned every week or so. The Ficus burtt davyi are not quite as hardy. I usually do not do anything to them until they begin to grow. I seldom completely defoliate. For the last few weeks I have been leaf pruning tjhe trees. In both cases when I leaf prune I always remove the terminal buds. The trick in both cases is to try to get leaf size uniform over the whole tree.
I agree and think that some of the figs as well as some of the other trees indigenous to Southern Africa are really excellent material for bonsai. It is unfortunate that more people are not aware of their potential.
