Latest to collect Junipers?

Everything is in full leaf here and junipers are putting out new growth as well. I found a awesome juniper that I'm not sure it'll be there in spring due to construction or me being there at the right time. I have a window now-I plan to get it this weekend, and plan on getting as big a root ball as I can ,then planting in my raised grow out bed for now. Would this and misting a few times daily have the greatest chance of survival?

Planting in the ground and misting the foliage will definitely help. Other things to increase the survival rate is to retain as much of the foliage and roots. Once established (in a few years), then you can play around with wiring, pruning, repotting (don't do all in the same year - although junipers are a bit more forgiving than pines and spruce).

Now is the best time to collect junipers in this area.
