Yamadori Leucaena leucocephala: Weirdest tree you have ever seen?
This is a Leucaena leucocephala or ha'ole koa as they are called here in Hawaii.
This definitely the weirdest tree I own.
Here it is in May of 2013 (about a year and a half after it was collected)
This is what it looks like now. The base is 6.5 inches wide at the biggest part and the tree is 14 inches tall overall.
A close up of the strange hollow (it was collected this way)
Thanks for the look.

Definitely a nice start - I'm thinking of Walter Pall's discussion of fantasy trees. This is a good candidate. Nice.

In the first picture before it has grown out it looks like Jabba the Hut .... this is a really cool tree

I keep waiting for a pepperoni to slide off. Oh wait- that was Pizza the Hut!
Yeah, what a strange tree! But something new that is probably pretty fun to explore, how it grows, responds to conditions, pruning, etc. Hope you show some progressions some day.
