Pinus mugo - yamadori 2010 "Tree of three way"

Hi all
I want to introduce you to Pine Yamadori "Tree of Three Way. The first meeting took place in April 2007. Unfortunately, growing on the rock was a big risk. I did not have the courage and went home. After fourteen months, in June 2008, I was again at the pine tree. thinking how very put it down. Unfortunately, I again had to give up. The third trip was in August 2010. In Jacob , we had a plan as under the tree. Finally, also helped by nature. Toch with blood, but all is well succeeded. I think it is an amazing tree. Winter in the heating bed in the greenhouse.Now the great outdoors is growing.

Pavel, I think that would be great pitty if you didn't dig this tree out. Is so easy work with such great yamadori.
Again you did excelent work.

i note, with interest, the screen mounted on left side of the pot.
i speculate pest control [i have my outdoor trees well screened to keep the neighbourhood cats and racoons at bay], but wonder if it serves another purpose.

I don't think it has anything to do with pests. The mesh is an aid to raise the soil when a tree gets a change of orientation and the roots could have been exposed.

rps, I don't think is for pest control....just need temporary higher rim of the pot to accomodate roots cover with substrate? I might be wrong too? ...........hehe Will you were faster

so, as the feeders work their way deeper into the pot the mesh and substrat will be removed exposing the now vulnerable roots. got it!
i do know it also sends the cats looking elsewhere --- they can be pretty persistent in their pursuit of an imagined morsel otherwise, especially after i've dosed the tamarack with fish fertlizer.

As Will wrote. Plastic mesh not against pests. Only for the roots of the tree when changing positions.
Work on dead wood I plan to in the future. Now is a good approach to the lower parts of the wood.
