such a thing as spider deterrent?
my garden fences with clematis and passion flower are covered with spider webs
now after 2months of bonsai bench being up ive come home to find lots of webs and mini spiders around
maybe they've picked up after i moved the plants into shade whilst i away for long weekend.
my dawn redwood had a couple of messy leaves
any suggestions to get rid of them etc?

Actually, spiders are "good" bugs, and help keep your trees clean of many kinds of "bad" bugs. You certainly don't want to kill them, and I know of no spider repellant. Best thing to do is simply to clean away the webs on your trees every so often. That will discourage them.

Somebody's egg case must have burst. They'll disperse to greener pastures rather quickly, I'd guess.

If you keep knocking down their webs when you water, they will eventually move. That is, unless there is a significant food source to keep them, in which case you need them. They're generally harmless to both you and your plants.
