The last ice age stopped less than a quarter of a mile from my front door (sometimes it seems like it never left) the landscape surrounding where I live (Lancashire South Pennines) is the result of glacial activity with drumlins and a substantial amount of moraine deposited throughout the area.

After substantial rain I walk the hill streams looking for stones, and this is my favourite.

Presumably washed down from Fiona’s back garden zillions of years ago this stone is deep red in colour (photos never do justice) and fits in the palm of your hand, the patina is still in development (I collected this stone approx 8 years ago) it has a lovely ‘plateau’ and ‘mountain’

The stone is uncut (as you can see) the base is not exactly flat but the stone sits quite well.

Do I keep this? or is it another I GIVE to Jerry... huuuuum Suspect

Hi Tony, So.... a gift "from Fiona's back garden zillions of years ago" !! Think she has a claim??
The stone is quite nice .... I like it! From one position the peak looks like a seated figure! How will you display the stone ... daiza, suiban, or other?

Don't give it away unless "someone" can prove ownership Razz

Dang, what's going on? My post didn't post. I replied to this a couple of hours ago.

Lovely stone Tony. Get it over to Douggie Mudd, poste-haste, for a daiza to be carved.

If you remember, bring it to Burrs. It looks a bit like jasper to me, but I could tell better if I can see it "in person".
