Dwarf Yaupon Holly....

It was on clearance and I liked it...Only $6.50



Put it in a nice big training pot I built and keeping it in the shade for a couple weeks.

that was how I got my three from Lafayette, Louisiana, at one of those Marts, back in 1980 or so.

Not sure what you want to do with it, but what I did was to thin out the plants and at a later date root pruned and got them into a freely draining soil.

I have never been disappointed by the Yaupon, it is a seductive shrub.

Right now I'm just trying to keep it alive till spring when I can do some more root work to get into a shallow pot. I'm just getting into bonsai and using cheap shrubs/trees to learn with.

I only see the left half of a tree in each of those photos, for some reason, so can't comment on the plant, but Youpon holly make very nice bonsai.
