Re: Easter Sunday at the Dragons Den
John Rees went to the FOBBS bootsale at Birmingham a few weeks ago and picked up this group of larch, he wanted to add a few more trees to it and so he had a hunt around the nursery and found a few that fitted the image
A seasons growth with some pruning and light wiring and it will be ready to go on a nice slab, it has all the makings of a fine group
Regards Chris

Re: Easter Sunday at the Dragons Den
Jerry wired some of his small junipers
Bernard had left his hawthorn in his conservatory , he will have to be careful to make sure the frost does not get it and that he hardens it of before putting it back out in a few weeks time!!!!!
However it is very interesting to see how muck growth he has got
Regards Chris

Re: Easter Sunday at the Dragons Den
Tap Pi Li,
Thanks for your suggestion, I agree your virtual does seem to improve the image on the screen. I will have to take a look and see if it is possible to make a change this season or to look at regrowing an alternative apex. I have struggled to move some of the larger branches on this tree as they are unusually brittle for a larch.
Thanks again for the feedback,
Andy

Re: Easter Sunday at the Dragons Den
Lee you may be right - the arcing trunk is what I don't like about this tree and it has always bothered me. But the nebari, bark and reasonable taper make up for it. Keeping the existing reversing apex does offset the bend a little and when viewing the tree in the "flesh" it looks acceptable. I think I may live with it for at least this year.
Cheers
Andy
