Deciduous Trees

Some might think that this is way to early, but we have already seen a full week of temps in the mid to high 70's in Cental Texas Zone 8 San Antonio. So my questions is, can I start cutting back my trees hard now or should I wait until the buds start to swell, next week? Lol We have not had much of a winter here and I know that we will still get one more freeze, But we have forcasts for more temps in the 70's this coming week. Thanks for any help

The buds are swelling on my bald cypress so I have been wiring and re-potting them for the past 10 days.
This is collecting time in S. Texas for B/C and a good time to re-pot THEM in my estimation.
I'm gonna wait for the flush of growth in 45 days or so to cut them back.

Move too soon, and you really WILL be pulling out your hair.

We'd had really mild winters for the last four years in South Texas (San Antonio) which equals a very early Spring.
That's made re-potting a lot of trees a tough job.
Bald Cypress are potted up early whether they were just collected or they have been on the bench for a year or more.

My other deciduous wait until later...and heed Jim's wisdom; Patience is a virtue.
