I like your plan for a new pot style; perhaps slightly larger pot for the height of this tree. I think the tree looks best (photo-wise) in the third photo.

the third photo is the new front and the pot size that is just a digital photo the vic at erin pottery i sent him the measurements so the pot will be bigger than what it looks like in the photo

I prefer trhe first position off the tree , like this, the trunk is too vertical and on this face, the roots are less natural .

Hi Andre

I like your Erin pot very much, but not for this tree....it is the sice of a trainingpot.
Your tree is high and elegant. not a sumo, witch this pot is asking for.

A tree look the best in a pot, 2/3 of the hight of the tree, and is as deep as the tree is wide on the lowest part of the trunk.

Hi Andre

When you bought the tree in 2011, was the roots quit new, and not thick ( as far as I can see).

Only two years has gone, and I would, if i were you, begin to arrange the roots under the surface in a better way, and repot in a shallow pot....
It would have been better, if you did that already as the tree was repottet the first time.

The treetrunk will with time become thicker, and a slightly higher, but still shallow pot, can be the best choice now.
It is a matter of thinking ahead.

Kind regards Yvonne

I agree its a beautiful pot and I agree it would (and could) not fit a supershallow pot, but I too think this pot is not a very good match for your tree... I would go for a height thats in between the supershallow one and yours; and perhaps an oval one, more wider so you can leave more empty space on the right. The height of your tree gives it a bit of unbalance now (referring to the neede empty space and wider pot)

i really think this pot is a good match with this tree between the old cracked bark and the cracked pot and the textures of both they really work good together. right now i have no plan to change the pot but i do plan next time i repot it plan on moving the apex more to the left. plus lets see how they look together when the tree is green. but you never know i might find a pot that would suit the tree better between now and the next repot who knows

Froom Tappilu : I don't know what you have planned in the pot, you need to provide images of the new pot, and a tree on the other background color

If you need to buy or select styling the pot then you can see the category "pot" of the Forum

I'm not sure why people don't like the pot or angle of the tree. This photo shows that they both work really well, nice work.

Fair enough, I'd be curious to see the planned angle. I also think moving more to the left of the pot in the picture ( to the trees right).
