Stone Cutting
Hi, all. I decided to post a topic here b/c I couldn't find a single place on the Internet that actually gave instructions on how to cut a stone. What tools are used generally? Is it usually done by hand or machine?
Thanks

cto cut a stone
Hello Richard,
I've heard of and seen a drag saw used,
Large diamond blade is drug back and forth by a machine,
till it cuts stone, it's first clapped down inside,
and covered by the large metal top of the saw.
heavy oil is used, so pores stones don't do as well...
Best to ask expert try susekiken@sbcglobal.net

Re: Stone Cutting
HI Rsmsan
Some years ago, I wanted to use some cut stones for bonsai ( root ower rock ), so I went to the small local headstonemaker...He used a machine attached to a table for the bigger stone ( about 2.5 kg ) and a handtool for the small ( 1 kg )....It all went nice and easy....oil was not used, only water.
Kind regards Yvonne

Hello.
Results can be impressive, however;
by cutting, a stone is transformed into a fixed object.
The hand is shocked because there is no Wabi Sabi feel to it.
Free evocation is invalidated.
Regards, Sunip

Hello RICHARD ,
and all Friends ,
In the past few years , I ' ve done some cut stone successfully ...
But now ,
I feel that : They are not interesting to me as the stone not cutting , especially Suiseki - Stone .
Example the following :
1 . a cut stone : describes MOUNTAINS
2 . a stone not cutting : describes PLATEAU ( _ Is this a SUISEKI - STONE ? )
Thanks for your share experience .
