Hello, it's not a critic, but an advice : the dead wood is not good ( black ), the trunk off your tree is too big, you will never have a fusion together .
To make tanuki, keep juniperus dead wood, and a young plant of the same sepcies, realise a deep an no large rainure from the base , to the head off the dead wood , same diameter that the young plant, take off the skin off the young plant half of the diameter, put the young plant in the rainure, attach the plant with screws , plant it in soil during 4 5 years without cutting branches , when the fusion is good, plant the tree in pot.
Note : in japanese language, tanuki means lie .
