I discovered this through Rob Kempinski and utilized the technique on my Ficus Nerifolia root cuttings with excellent results. I only wish I learned it earlier.

Dario, species that give water sprouts from their roots around the main trunk are more or less suitable for taking root cuttings and growing new plants.

edit: I have to clarify that the above info is what I have been told, I have not experience of my own.
