WELCOME to IBC!!!
That is huge! Personally, I see multiple plants from it instead.

Yikes, not me. Love it the way it is. I was just thinking what a nice clump/group it's going to make. Can't wait to see it in that much shallower oval pot!
Have to admit that I do prefer the low branches on the right in a more horizontal position.

Russell,
You're most likely right since I am (my personal taste is) biased that way.

Re: My lil Ficus ....
I understand what you mean Dario. From my end I see a bunch of rather uninteresting individual trees, and if they were sitting on my bench I'd bundle them together to make a fused group like this. I love to see this particular ficus as a natural looking group or single banyan style bonsai, and this one seems well on its way.

Neriifolia, etc.
The correct name is Ficus salicaria. It is interesting as a clump banyan style, but I would thin it out a little so the birds can fly through.

Re: My lil Ficus ....
Very nice clump style.
In a shallow pot and with a little bit of secondary branching this should be a knockout.

Yes...I've been trying to figure out why I prefer the first photo to the third photo, and I think this is the main reason. Looks like some other trunks have also been removed or shortened? Hard to tell.
Anyway, I agree that this is going to be a really nice clump when the branching is further developed. Looking forward to seeing that happen!

Re: My lil Ficus ....
Topics now merged so we can see the tree in both its old and new pots.
I liked the old pot but personally I think you made the right choice in putting it in the shallow oval.
Looking forward to seeing it develop.
