My Dwarf Crepe Myrtle
Here are a few pictures of two of my crepes. They bloomed this year, unfortunately, I didn't think that they were gong to and I pruned too soon, cutting most of the blooms off, oops. The first five pictures are of the largest one, about 12 inches. The last two pictures are of a cutting from the same tree that I managed to root. It is 6 inches and has a few blooms on it.
Critiques and comments are welcome. Sorry about the using the hood of my Jeep as a back drop, it is all that I have at the moment.

More people should try crape myrtle. They make beautiful bonsai, and are relatively fast growing, they backbud well and grow easily from cuttings and layers.
Nice job.

Very nice. Any suggestions for over wintering in cold climates? In my opinion they fall into that awkward category - they probably can't handle hard freezes (sub 20F/-7C), but they probably need some winter rest.

Mine have done fine with temps in the mid teens. They sit unprotected on my benches.

Mine, too, I leave them out all winter. They occasionally see some teen's. They are very hardy plants.
