That stone does seem a good match for the tree. It's a nicely interesting composition. The portion of the nebari still showing is good - I assume the part that is under the stone was lacking. What do you envision for the future?

Thank you for your input....regarding the tree's future I am not quite sure at this point, but would certainly welcome suggestions. The tree actually began as an informal upright. I was not pleased with the the base of the trunk and so opted to remove the entire top of the tree, leaving only the lower most branch. I reduced that branch quite a bit as well. At that point the tree might have been a good start for a semi-cascade/cascade composition; however I wanted to see if I could locate a stone to fill the space.
Regretfully I did not take any "before" photographs....

Perhaps you should encourage some aerial roots to grow around other portions of the stone so it looks more natural.
