Re: ficus in a large pot
yes the trunk has thickened considerably !!!
I see that you have removed some of the lower branches...
Is it your goal to continue to make the tree taller and taller ?
I believe the tree would be much more powerful and striking if it were shorter with lower branches...
This can be accomplished by aggressively cutting the top back, which will force it to make lower shoots...
just my thought

Thank you Kevin.
You’re absolutely right.
A lower tree with lower branches was my initial plan
but they hid the trunk considerably.
I have made provisions for some lower branches in the future.
Can you see the 2 lowest branches on the left and right?

An update and a New year wish.
Growth has been vigorous and
I see many areas to work on.
I’m slowly correcting the mistakes from my learning days.
Thanks to comments from all of you.

Update 2023
Hello everyone,
I’m sharing my work on my ficus.
I’ve totally abandoned the conical triangular shape.
I find the tree responds better when trained to a rounded look.
The work on getting a larger canopy was not difficult. It just took lots of constant pruning, time and patience.
Any comments or guidance from viewers is much appreciated.
