Oscillating multi-purpose tool for bonsai carving?
Has anyone tried using any of the oscillating multi purpose tools for carving on bonsai? Conceptually, it seems like they might be a little more precise, since they wouldn't run away from you like a rotating power tool will.

So, I'm going to go with no, then.
I decided to get an angle grinder instead. Also ordered a lancelot blade.

Have you considered the Arbortech mini grinder carving set? If not, check it out.

I believe Bob Preslar posted somewhere before that he have seen the Lancelot blade disintegrate. Please check with him before buying this.cbobgo wrote:So, I'm going to go with no, then.

No not a lance-a-lot......poink is right I saw one break in use and the chain wound up imbedded in a wall. The abor tech works on a mini grinder , will do anything the lance-a-lot can and is infinitely safer.

If I was you I would NOT get the Lancelot blade. I have been a tradesman all my life and have worked with many tools for carving wood they all can be wicked but the Lancelot is just flat dangerous. I had 10,00 dollars worth of hand surgery to fix a injury from one. An associate had one catch his pants and go up his leg eventually causing horrific gouging and 27 stitches, nearly making it to his crotch.
