Re: Stone Appreciation for Your Comments
Hi Alex... In gardens with a waterfall, an exposed stone is often placed at the bottom to indicate a "Carp Approaching the Dragon Gate." It alludes to a scholar facing his final exam, where he can become a dragon through his own merit. Your stone could represent the "Leaping Carp."

Dear Ogie
Indeed a very good stone, with strong collour, and strong animalpictures....eagle and shi shi.
A very good idea to make two daiza...this way you also can exhibit the stone together with other objects, as the pctures points in each direction, very usefull.
Just do I not understand the longleged daiza, is this a tradition in your homecountry?, what do you call the daiza?.
Kind regards Yvonne

Hi Ogie
Shi Shi is a guarddog, also called a liondog. In China a Shi Shi Foo. A protector of religion. You see theese dogstatues by the temples.....they come in pairs, one of each side of the entrances.
A female with a baby, and the male with a ball.
Very kind regards Yvonne
