Hens and Chicks blooming

I wish I could get my Kusamono hens and chicks to do this:

They will start flowering if they are ready, at least that is my impression.
Mine was sitting there happily not growing very much for about five years, all of a sudden last year it decided that it was time

I have no idea how to get them to flower, I put them in small pots keep them fairly dry and don't feed them very much, oh and hope...........

So lovely! Mine are not flowering...  

i have had the same batch for over 10 years and they were getting tight in their container so i finally repotted them...

they have never before flowered, but after the repotting:
