Saving a large spruce
I was at work when I noticed a guy had a 4.5' spruce(looks like alberta) in his flatbed truck. I asked him about it, and he said he was just gonna throw it away!- Looks like one of the sides is dead as the branches are all dead. It still has a lot of it's roots. I plan on just planting it in my grow out bed and leaveing it alone for a year(maybe longer) to let it recover. Any other tips to help keep it alive? Pics tomorrow as I'm at work at the moment. It's much to tall for what I have in mind for it-when also would be a good time to cut of the top like 12" or so?

Re: Saving a large spruce
Just mist for now and maybe hung a piece of shade cloth over the foliage,if too much sun. Later you can think of styling ones the tree has recovered.
