Pest? (winged elm)

I just noticed the leaves doing this a few days ago and now the are turning yellow and if you touch them they fall off. I have no clue what it could be. I could not find any other signs on the trees. Its on three of my elms.

That makes sense, they are recent air layers.

Yup. Too much water. Probably from the &^%$%^ rain we've had over the last week or two.

Yeah its been pooring here for days and days, every other week or so.

If so, you must ensure they have a good drainage.

They have good drainage but I added a little more organic to get them through the hot days if I'm not here.

Definitely overwatering, same thing happened to my premna. Yellowing and dropping leaves.
