Did a quick google search and the bark though somewhat similar is very different. The photos here are like papery and chestnut is not.

might be wrong but most estates have big sweet chestnuts on their estates .

I have a feeling the bottom pic of Brians with the sign and flakey bark is a different tree.

Yeah sorry..... The signs in a different tree..... That ones a Yew. On a footpath in Llangollen, down along side the river!
