MARCH 24th-25th 2012
A weekend to celebrate Welsh trees
An extensive show of Welsh trees, these will be judged in three classes.
1 Wild yamidori
2 Domestic yamidori
3 Garden centre origin
Sat 24th 10am-11 noon Meet and greet
11-11.45 Bonsai Manuel’s way
12-12.45 Simon Temblett Hawthorn Refinement
12.45-1.30 Jerry Wheeler Carving Refinment
1.30-2.15 Lunch
2.20-3.00 John Pitt Tree refinement and pot choice
3-3.45 Questions and answers with the artists
4-5 saying good buy for the day
Sat evening meal at the Scots pine
Sun 25th 10-11 Meet and greet
11-11.45 Bonsai Manuel’s way
12-12.45 Malcolm Driffield, his approach to Bonsai
1-1.45 Lunch
2-2.45 John Pitt More on refinement and pot related issues
3-3.45 Questions and answers with the artists
All the seminars are aimed at techniques and not at producing a tree image on the day, the 45 min slots will ensure that neither the artists or audience will get bored. It will also give everyone something to look forward to hour by hour thought out the weekend finishing with the QandA at the end of each day

Really looking forward to it Chris,
I know from experience of working with you guys, it will be a weekend of passion and fun, relating to bonsai I hasten to add,
if you can make it to sunny South Wales I promise you will go away inspired.
And its free, a big thanks to Chris for putting in the time and effort to make this happen.

Slight ajustment to the running order, Simon can't make it until lthe Sunday, so I have swaped Malcolm to the sat and Simon to the Sunday

Yes Chris I can only echo Lewis' comments, it was such a great weekend with so much information freely given by experts in such a relaxed atmosphere.
Chris - it must of been good to get me posting instead of lurking all this time!!

Hi Chris,
My highlight was getting to share so much quality time with so many bonsai friends.
I was moved by what I saw.
What a majestic sight, the snowy white contrasting against the coarse rugged black.
The fine time earned curves that danced throughout the rolling, hard won and weather-beaten, yet powerful image.
The blackthorn wasn't bad either

Hi All,
After last weekend I can only add to what others have said, What a weekend! excellent weather, breathtaking trees, top class speakers and may I add special thanks to the backroom staff for the catering (nice welsh cakes).
