Itoïgawa with fantastic curves.
Hello, here's an Itoïgawa i've had for already six years now.
He's got really incredible curves on the trunk and on the branches as well.
It's difficult to find a project adapted to his strange movement.
Three years ago i did shape it and put it in a bonsaï pot, but as he was getting weak, i did repot him in a bigger pot one year after.
Now he is in a good health and i'm gonna work on him again.
Hera are photos from the beginning until now and two projects (the second is done by Vev)

It's been grown like this, and twisted up over time!???

Amazing - have not seen such a fantastically twirled Juniper before. This will be one of a kind developed right, and your sketches look very promising.
Good you take good care of it.
Bryan, these are grown at nurseries in Japan, and deliberately curved like this - they will not be found in nature in this small size and like this. They are wired from young starters to develop this way.

Morten

Re: Itoïgawa with fantastic curves.
Thank's everybody.
gman--yes it could be a shee !
DangerousBry--the first sketch is classical, some kind of a classical japanese styling, the second one (done by vev) is differrent, trying to find new ideas according to the tree.
I'm going to try the second one, searching in new directions that's the idea!

2nd image for sure. In my opinion it looks much more like Contemporary Japanese though, the first looks like images of Shimpaku Bonsai from the 50s.

Nice job 4fi
Don't you think a round pot is better for this tree?

Absolutely beautiful? The soil level is hiding that beautiful curve at the base though. Did you raise the soil level for a reason?

Thanks Rob.
For the soil it's just for the repotting, i always put more soil to avoid dryness, it will settle or i will take it away for an exhibition.
