For the Kids in us
All his life a little boy wanted to make a kite
Today he took his Maiden flight
With all his happiness he forgot how quick the time past
Came the dusk then the night
In the silence of a windy night
The little boy lost his kite
...He learned a lesson in life
...Never fly a kite in a windy night
by:
Jun
...Today kids just ask Santa for a kite and Xbox (Outch!!) and presto! but rarely learned a lesson in life.
Happy Saint Nicholas Day Kids of IBC

Thanks Alexandra!
We are also heading for "a windy night" base on next years forecast. The rippled effect of Europe's problem is coming here soon. We are just hoping we learned our lesson in life.
I'll keep you entertained, Keep on smiling. Santa is coming to town, I hope! hehehe.

Forget the Kite,
what a well done tree. Great composition of tree and slab. Feels like the trees on the San Fernando hill cliffs. Two thumbs up.
Now might I tease you ------------ goats have kids, humans have children.
It's the 6th of December and the Christmas tree and ornaments go up today until the 6th of January.
Stay Safe and you got Europe we got Africa and North America. Pleasantly cold weather last night - 20 deg,c in the backyard.
Thanks for the kite memory. I used to make kites every summer, when the kite paper ran out or mum wouldn't buy anymore, newspaper and bamboo from the hedge and ultimately plastic bags.

Re: For the Kids in us
Hi Khaimraj.
Thanks!
Nice to hear from you again.
should I change the title? "for the small goats in Us"...
It is really frustrating to lost a Kite in a tree. I can still remember losing so many of my kites to a tree and how impossible to get it back.
PS
I'll show you how the tree looks like before I restyled it into this form. The "book" is practically helping me, there is a whole section of windswept styling in there that is really practical and workable. ...and a premise of "challenge" to ones capability and Ego (again).
regards,
jun

Re: For the Kids in us
Sir Jun! you remind me of my childhood days lol
I felt like it was a very long story when in fact it lasted for less than 10 seconds...
Great presentation.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks Hirow.
What I personally think about this concept, Is that most people can relate to it. I think everybody lost a kite to a tree, and it is a very memorable or horrible experience for a kid.hehehe.
PS
Don't call me sir please. Some English people here might think I am a knight of some sort. I fell kindda too old when you addressed me as sir.

Precisely today in the evening i remember my times of kites. Very ingenious as always, very good concept with a great meaning of conviviality with the nature and peace. I like it, best regards ... flavio

Hi Jun,
with every unique idea you show to use, I am becoming more and more a big fan of your work! This latest one brought a big smile to my face, because it brought back fun memories of my childhood! But it also gave me a some what sombre feeling, because of the time, things and people that were lost during this live! So beside showing us a good Bonsai, you manage to trigger all kind of feelings and emotions with this tree and composition and that in my book is great art! And makes you a true artist!
Well don my friend, well don indeed!
Cheers,
Hans van Meer.

Re: For the Kids in us
Lord Jun,
I have spent much time on hills, and areas with windy cliffs, so your tree needs no kite for me to enjoy it. Additionally, I can appreciate it as design, and there it is quite beautiful.
A kite tale. I once made a boy sized kite out of a large newspaper and then used a ball of crotchet thread to fly it from the concrete section of my home's roof. I was able to feed out all 2000 feet and tied the string to the Tv antennae, climbing down and walking to where the kite was.
Ha ha, it was impossible to bring it back in, so I just popped the thread and for days the neighbourhood had a long line of red thread hanging from trees, telephone poles and so on. Ha ha.
Happy to see anything else you want to show, if and when you have time.
Where I have the second home in Mayaro, with the wind there, it is no challenge to get a kite up, but they have to be large or heavy, and when you aioooh [ kite falls ] you would never get it back,
Merry Christmas.

Re: For the Kids in us
Flavio,
thanks! I appreciate it!
One of the best rewards that one (at least for me) can get from creating bonsai is if managed to send the message of emotion to the viewer and send a sense of memory flash back to oneself. That is why I am happy for this tree that it send you a feeling of festivity (conviviality). And to others a sense of serene happiness...
and put a little smile even to the though guys of bonsai.

jun

Khaimraj,
I am neither a knight or a Lord hehehe!
...I am in the bottom of the social spectrum...I belong to the working class trying hard to be an artisan.
I am happy that you're not bored on my works and persistence of posting it here after all these times (years now?)...and you are expecting for more?. You and the great artists above are pushing me further. I loved challenges, you know, I am an "egoists" -just kidding (or young goating around),hehehe.
