From bush to bonsai
It's been awhile since I've posted so I thought I'd share some of my latest work and get some opinions.
I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure the material is a Juniperus chinensis 'Pfitzeriana'.
This is what it looked like when I started.
Then after transplanting and rough pruning.
Several months later after , the first carving to get rid of the reverse taper and wiring.
So any thoughts. Its over potted now but I'll wait a couple of years before putting it in a shallow pot.

I think you have a good start. Now its about pinching for foliage pads. Have fun!

Hello Bob,.. I really like what you have done with this material. The tree has nice movement, good nebari and a realistic amount of carving. I even like the grow pot choice. I think, that if it were my tree, I might let it grow and then cut, rather than pinching the pads. However, I guess it would depend on the future health and vigor. I would allow the tree to become strong before I did a large amount of pinching, since pinching can really weaken a tree...just my opnion..
