You should get rid of that light green fungus type flat stuff, it will eventuality kill your plants or just allow rot in your roots and slow growth.

It is a liverwort and tends to indicate that things are staying too wet. They will only grow under very damp conditions. Possibly due to overwatering or compacted soil that doesnt allow drainage.

Thanks Cory, was just looking on the net to try and find out what it was. The roots were hosed off when collected and its planted in tesco low dust fired clay cat litter, so I'm probably guilty of over watering it. Have the same problem with another couple of trees so its good to know what I'm doing wrong.
