A Procumbens Juniper From 2005
I've had this procumbens now for six years. The thing that stuck out the most for me when I purchased it was the mature shimpaku like foliage, and the movement of the trunk. I thought it had plenty of potential. The first pic is the tree at purchase. It was purchased at a bonsai nursery and was supposed to have already been styled. I'm afraid I didn't see what the original stylist had in mind with that drooping foliage.
After some much needed trimming, this was to be the new look.
As the years went by the tree has had two different fronts and a few different pots. When I started woking with JBPs a few years ago, many of my junipers got put on the back burner and filled in much more than I would have liked ruining all the styling work I had put into them. I recently got my act together and worked this one back into a likeable tree again.
