Years ago, this is my Silverberry bonsai that inspired "sumo style". The height is 22 inches and the
circumference at the base of the trunk is 36 inches.

Hi Mike,

It is a very interesting silverberry and you say this inspired the "sumo style" but is the center of the base, deadwood with an application of lime sulfur ? To me the harsh white is jarring and I wonder how the base would look with perhaps a space for a true sumo stance or a rock that would blend. Anyway, I do admire your vision and creativity!

The stark white of the jin is due to flash photography. I'm attaching an image of the jin
taken with natural light. This image is realistic.
