Chamaecyparis Obtusa and Juniperus Rigida
Hi
Does anyone know where I can obtain Chamaecyparis Obtusa (Hinoki Cypress) and Juniperus Rigida (Needle Juniper) in the UK, preferably either in the South West or by mail order.
I am not looking for bonsai or partly styled trees but for nursery stock I can grow on and style to my own designs.
Any information appreciated.
Regards,
Mike Partridge

hi - the hinoki is available from most large landscape nurseries - i saw 6 at the dutchy nursery a few weeks ago, they appear from £3 to £35 quite often (6" to 24") - ridgida much harder to find as it doesnt have a lot going for it as a uk garden plant - i have never seen them other than as bonsai, and then only as quite expensive imports - i'd get a few small cheap hinokis as they grow fast in the ground and save for a better rigida as cuttings take 30 years + to build a credible trunk
