Re: Some efforts at the combo
Hi Truong
Thanks for sharing your photos
The stone together with a plant, is not really suiseki...I would post it in the topic: Dispaly, kusamono...
The next photo, show a nice pot....Two stones are placed in it, You can not really see them....
Please take a look at the newest photos on my topic: Danish stones...It can give you an idea, on how you can, show a stone in a suiban.
Hope it helps.
Kind regards Yvonne

I like suibans too. But at the moment I own a very small one, albeit nice.

Hi Truong
You can show your stones in the big pot, no problem...But take a photo from an another angle, to highligt the stone.....plants together with a stone in the pot, is not suiseki.

Thanks Yvonne.
I actually want this angle, because it highlights the boatshape of the stone, and the rice plant.
I just realized that the rice plant looked like a flag.
Not suiseki? No problem mate

Hi Trong... In the first photo, are you illustrating a scene regarding water or the loss of water? Do you imagine a story, a scene or elements of both?
A cactus planted on a surface partially covered with seashells & seashell fragments is unexpected and, therefore, intriguing.

I'm glad you find it intriguing. I just think cacti go well with stones, I use the seashells and coral bits because they are available to me

Hi Truong
I would place the cacti next to the stone , at least if it is a stone you want to exhibit like a suiseki.
Kind regards Yvonne

No problem mate I'll try that next. Tall catus, short stone or the other way round. Will look cool.Yvonne Graubaek wrote:Hi Truong

I'm actually not so sure mate.
Maybe you need to drop in my "Going home" thread. Think it's my last.
