One thing tropical trees seem to have trouble with is developing good root bases. Takes lots of work from the beginning.

Those flowers are lovely and remind me very much of the flowers on a tree we have in Dallas. I have always known it as Mimosa, but it is not really in the Mimosa genus but is related. The correct genus is Albizia, and if I can dig one up that is big enough I'm going to give it a try because those flowers look really nice. I'm going to go try and get a picture of one outside to show you what I mean.

Well it rained last night so the flowers have all faded, but I sanpped a picture of one in my neighbors yard, and a little seedling typical of the hundreds all over my yard. They grow like weeds and are considered invasive, and the flowers are bright pink and pretty like the ones on your tree, I like it a lot.
