See this done for first time. Looks OK but how about in few years when roots thicken? I'm a bit scepticle to this technic.

Interesting neat technique and the results are very good!
Two questions.
1. Do you know what he used to paint the rocks & cement?
2. He left living veins inside the root ball...won't those push the "rocks" outward as it grows?

1: The ink used is a cement-based iron oxide.
2 :There also will be improved.

Very interesting technique. I love the results. Colour of the rocks contrasts really well with the colour of the bark. Thanks for sharing.

Agree. Lots of work, interesting result, but . . . I'm not at all sure of its longevity.

Interesting stunt...really worth trying.
If it does not work after all, will a airlayering do the trick.....hope for the best. I will look for a update.
