Looking for 2" to 3" pots (ahem, potters...)
What's up everybody? I've been interested in mame bonsai since I got started. I recently came up with a project that will require nine 2" or 3" inch pots. I've found some nice pots for decent prices on ebay but, some are in Japan and I'm hesitant to purchase something where the shipping cost is neary equal to the price of the pots. Anybody have any experience ordering pots from Japan? Any of you potters out there have anything that size? Or could you make something that size? Glazed or unglazed, doesn't matter too much. Although I'd prefer most of them glazed. All shapes are acceptable too. I'd like to purchase all of them at once so I can bundle shipping if possible. I have some nursery stock that I've been using to shape little mame trees out of the branches. Once they look acceptable to me I remove them and hope they take as cuttings. So far, so good. Just getting a head start on the pot search, the project shall remain top secret till I find something that fits the bill. I think it's safe to say this is my most ambitious project so far and I'm eager to get it underway. Going to go to the hobby store and pick up some materials tomorrow... gotta start crafting some miniatures. As always any info is greatly appreciated.

Found a couple sources for pots for decent prices here in the States. I've done a lot of work on my "top secret" project and it's almost ready for some photos. It's looking pretty good so far. Hope to be done and post pics soon in another thread.

These are beauties!
Did you say who the potter was that created them?
Thanks,
Rob

Wow, Vic, they're beautiful!
Not a dog in the bunch. Now if I could just keep such small plants alive....

Hello Vic. Wonderful glazes. I love the less refined looking pots you make. I mean that as a compliment and don't mean a lack of skill whatsoever.

Super little set of wee gems!..... top marks for making these pots Vic. It's a very fiddly ceramic process which I don't think many folk appreciate.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers, Dan
