Asking for design help with this columnar Arborvitae
Hallo All:
I found this 5.5 ft columnar arborvitae in the street for disposal. I realize it's not a popular tree, but I have never tackled anything this tall. I am thinking of cutting it back to 18" on the main stem where there are a few live branches. Or should I be even more drastic? But what to do with the side stems? Any hope on backbudding? Any suggestions appreciated.

I don't think older Arborvitae back buds very well.

Thanks Billy. I'll be careful to leave some green on the branches.
