What a mess(ficus retusa)

What do I do with this? got it for a steal so I figured I'd mess with it. Want to try a root over rock and graft some other ficus to it to help it out

Very difficult to say. Try the Testing, posting images tutorial.

"What a mess"...Its easy! just throw the trash, remove the clutter on the table and arrange the pillow on the sofa.

...with the tree. I think if it were mine I would shorten it about half of its current size and plant it in a big container and wait for a year or two before doing anything again on it.
actually you could make two smaller trees with this ficus.

Keeping it in a very humid environment helps greatly.

Helps to live in the tropics.

Can I just wrap it losely is plastic wrap to make it very humid

Also can I graft other ficus seedlings to it for arial root(ficus Ben.) Because I can't find retusa seedlings

Not sure where in VA you are located, but if in NoVA, use this to find a club. Northern VA has some great talent and they can help you.
If more towards central VA, I can give you other clubs to source for info and tutelage(?)
