cat litter
Hi guys,please can anyone give me the name of the cat litter to mix for bonsai,that can be bought here in the UK

This is the Cat Litter that Tesco sells.
It's about £3.00 a bag if I remember rightly. I used it by itself last year but didn't especially like it tbh. I found it a bit insubstantial in the pot, I sometimes use the weight of the compost to hold roots in place etc and the cat litter won't let you do that. I also knocked a couple of the pots over accidentally and the whole lot poured out. I was left with bare rooted trees! This year I am mixing it with John Innes and grit, something like 20%, and that feels much better to me. Also, give it a thorough wash before using as it has antibacterial stuff in it although I have read that others leave it unwashed without problems.
But don't take my word for it, I'm no expert. Just telling of my limited experience with it.
