Green Algae
Does anyone know Walter Pall,s solution to clean this stuff off your trees that gets on the trunk and small branches??? thank you very much..take care john

It's probably not as grand as Walter's solution, but it isn't rocket science, after all . . .
1. A toothbrush-and-water scrub will do it, and
2. Not spraying the foliage with water so often will help prevent its recurrence -- as will keeping your trees in full sun.
Adding a bit of vinegar to the water when you brush will kill what you miss.
Is it algae (sp!) or moss? Or mold?

Thank you Jim,, i can get the trunks pretty well with dish soap but the small branches are my problem..take care john

What Jim has suggested is the cure and what Iris has suggested is the prevention.... both spot on...

Try 50% white vinigar 50% water brush on ,leave for a week then brush off with a soft brush,very good on Cork Bark Elms without damaging the bark.

thank you Bob for your reply....i did the viniger last night the tree looks better but not all is gone,,,i will brush some more befor leaves start...take care john
