Help this poor looking Ficus
Hello all,
This poor tree is an example of what I tried doing in my much, much earlier days of bonsai. But now I just have no idea where to go with it. I thought about having roots grow down off that lone branch, like a banyan, but no idea how that would look. I've done basically nothing to this tree for quite a while and it makes me sad to look at it. Any clues where to go with it?
Thanks!

Outdoors when weather permits, air, light, water, fertilizer.

Billy is right, I was given an office ficus from a friend to "save" that looked awful. I repotted it in decent potting soil, put it in a place that receives dappled sunlight at mid day and forgot about it. Watered and fertilized with the rest of the trees and it looks wonderful. I think I may tell hime it died.

Unfortunately, after a bout with aphids, this guy lost and has passed on.

Did you conduct a postmortem? With all the insecticides and other remedies available, I can't imagine a Ficus dying from aphids. I would suspect it was weak, probably from improper potting.Ryan wrote:Unfortunately, after a bout with aphids, this guy lost and has passed on.

It was probably a mixture between poor light and just improper care. It was back before I adjusted my indoor growing to the point where it's at now. Oh well, I couldn't see much in it anyways.
